How time flies.

Wow it is September already. Time to take the garden out and clean up the yard. I have been very busy sewing and selling at the markets, but that is now slowing down to as the tourists are now all going home and they were my biggest customers. I will now have more time to spend on getting my etsy site back up and in working order. Looking very forward to the winter and my new creations. I will do some Christmas markets, but not to many. I need some quiet time.

Saturday, July 18, 2009

I have been most busy sewing and selling my purses and other items at the farmers markets in the surrounding cities and towns that I live near by. The most amazing market is Cherryville market located along Highway #6 in BC, Canada, held on Saturday mornings from 9 - 1. Just a small quaint market with local vendors selling their produce from organic gardens. So amazing. There are other vendors there as well selling soy candles, beautiful blown glass necklaces, other jewelery, (I will have a better description next weekend along with a few pictures. Oh yes and live music, such tallent.
And then I sell in the Vernon, BC Farmers market on Thursdays. A much larget market, (not as much fun as Cherryville, but a good place to sell my purses.) again pic's next week.
My newest creation which sold this weekend in Cherryville.
So I guess I will have to make another... Thanks to all of you who read my blog. Hope someday I will have more time and make it better.

A new week

I have been very busy this past week. I do not seem to find time to write. I have recently been to 2 farmers markets selling my purses and other little items. Sales have picked up that is for sure. On Thursdays you can find me at the Vernon, BC farmers market and on Saturday I alternate between Lumby, BC and Cherryville, BC. This past weekend I was in Cherryville and I had sold 4 purses. Prior to that I was in Vernon on the Thursday and sold 2, then last night I sold 1 on etsy, so that makes a total of 7 purses the month of July. I need to get sewing..... I am very pleased with the response I have been getting at the markets. Makes it all worth while. Hey I even sold a purse to a man, did not realy think I had a man's purse, but one of my denim ones looked manly enough so he bought it and now he wants me to make another one for him. The pictures I am posting are some of the purses that sold.

It was a productive day

I had a great day, made a few head bands and one purse... I am excited I finally had time to make a purse. This is part of my Leona line, I hope to have it posted on my Etsy site tomorrow.

Monday again...

It is a beautiful rainy day outside, so I will be inside sewing and watching the much needed rain.
This weeks projects??? I have so many ideas and so little time. I am trying to create a new purse design. It seems to be a little bit of a challenge as I seem to make things complicated...

Monday

In my studio where I love to be. My 5 year old Chocolate Lab "Harley" happily snoring away, waiting for the hum of the sewing machine. This week's agenda: Going to create another wine tote, and then a Mother & Daughter purse. Might do that one tomorrow, today I think the studio needs a little clean-up, after I sew something of course. I will be posting the wine tote on my other blog, Purses later today...

New Requests

Today is a sewing day, a few orders to fill... It is nice finally to have requests again. Small ones but requests just the same. I have just gotten back into my creating and sewing after a long year of building a house and organizing a new studio.
My work can be seen at my Etsy shop, My Purse Blog, Dot's Chocolate Shop in Lumby, BC, the Saturdays Farmers Market in Lumby, BC, and occasionally at the Vernon Farmers Market.

Lumby, BC Market

It is Saturday, and a beautiful day it is. Market day, I am off to the market to sell my purses and other items I sew. We are hoping for a busy day as usual. It is a small town along the #6 Highway in the sunny Okanagan. So if anyone reads this post please come and visit, you will recognize the purses. We get many tourists as it is along a beautiful highway, great for touring and riding a motorcycle. But be careful there are many deer along this highway.

Today I am going to try my hand at making a healing oil. I will be using Almond Oil and Heart Leaf Arnica which I have growing wild in my yard. This oil will be used to dab on sore muscles to ease the pain. We will see what turns out in 4 weeks.

Just a bit about my day today.

I have been sewing all day and into the evening. This is just one of the things I made today, it is a tissue cozy that you carry in your purse to hold those little tissue packages you can purchase from the store. I just fold up a few tissues from the big box on the counter and stuff them in.
I am trying to prepare for the Lumby public market which is held every Saturday from 9 - 1 in the parking lot on the main street. I do have many purses made in all shapes and sizes, but I like to sew many things so I decided to sew these little tissue holders, I also have gift bags, wine gift bags, and much more.
